I slept surprising well last night, considering my bed is rather firmer here than elsewhere. Often a change like that takes a little getting used to. It is just so good to be in our own home. We are moored on the outer wall of the harbour and it’s a 15 minute walk just to get to the harbour entrance, but we are happy to stay put because it is quiet. We have been offered to move over to a slot much nearer town, but it may be noisy at the weekend when the party goers arrive and there’s always the promenaders, who sometimes stand and stare, although, hopefully admiring the boat. Nevertheless, that can feel a little intrusive sometimes.

Today has been overcast, windy, much cooler with a top temperature forecast of 18c, but dry. Jessica, in the marina office, described this as disgusting weather. To us it is wonderful. Everything that we are washing drys really quickly and it’s not too hot to work. This means that we’ve made good progress on the cleaning. The wind was too much for the riggers to go up the mast, so their work is postponed until Monday. They drive to Malaga tomorrow to participate in a race at the weekend.

We bought just enough food for today in the small shops: bakery, fishmonger and green grocer. The fruit and vegetables are amazing. Today we’ve come back with a tray of possibly the biggest strawberries I’ve ever seen. Hopefully they will taste sweet. It’s good to see that they keep some of the locally grown produce here and it isn’t all shipped to the UK.
