Sunday 2 June 2019
The day broke with a completely calm sea and in the early
morning light, the water was, again, crystal turquoise blue. There were only
two other boats in the anchorage, off a pretty bay, with a beach at it’s head.
Before the beach-goers arrive, the only activity is the usual tractor, cleaning
the beach. We had to tear ourselves away from staying the day and another night
there, but we wanted to get into a place, where we could leave Mallorca with a
short sail across to Menorca, while keeping our options open, as to which day
we cross.
Early on, the wind was very light and erratic, but it
picked up and we were soon trucking along at a decent speed. We had a good days
sailing, then approached Cala Agula in the early evening. This bay had a large
development of high rise hotels on the south side, the beach was busy with
holiday makers and loud music drifting across. The music, however, quite
enjoyable, we knew it wouldn’t continue after sunset and we couldn’t hear it,
anyway, below deck so it wasn’t going to disturb us over night. We were the
second boat in and, by the end of the day we had been joined by three more
boats.
