Not far to go today, so we took our time in preparing to
leave. We watched the ferry come and go
from landing stage. It seems like a
fairly primitive system, just opening the nose of the boat while motoring up to
the jetty, attaching lines, and then the ferry reverses against the lines. Anyway it all seemed to work quite
satisfactorily.
We headed out of the cala, avoiding the rather unpleasant
looking rocks on the way, and headed for the Pelosa Passage, where we planned to
stop for lunch. This is lagoon like bay, just inside the passage from one side
of the islands to the other that we had bypassed on Monday. Here the water was a spectacular turquoise and super clear, and it was only a very short time after we had anchored before
we were all in swimming. Diving competitions were held from the back of the cockpit,
to the amusement of all.
We spent a couple of hours relaxing and enjoying the place,
before we raised the anchor and headed the last couple of miles around a
headland to the port of Stintino.
We had to moor to the jetty in a nasty cross wind, and the marinaros
came in a rib to hold us straight while we got all of the lines on. The marina office was straight from a California surf beach, true style.
In the evening we went and ate at a very pleasant restaurant
in the town. It was a 20 minute walk in
each direction, but this was much
needed.
| Views of the inner harbour. Very peaceful. |
