Saturday 5 October 2019

The morning was filled with a trip to the butcher, bakery and supermarket. The lady in the bakery was delighted we had returned as promised and only too pleased that we bought a lot of bread and some cake.

On arrival back at the marina, we met the lady from the boat next door, with her eight month old daughter. They had been away from the boat for a few days, because the baby gets seasick, so needed to be on dry land for a while. They had arrived the day before. The boat is their home. They must have lots of space for all the baby paraphernalia. Their other crew had arrived too, as they were leaving at the same time as us to sail to Sicily, their home port for the winter.

We had to dispose of the rubbish, but the marina staff had left early and locked the gate to the bin store. We did consider Steve trying to do a Magic Johnson impersonation and lob the bags over the fence into the bins but on return, to try this, the lids had also been put on the bins. The rubbish, which we had to prepare  very well for recycling, would have to wait for the morning.

Gerry and Mary arrived in the late evening and we look forward to a fun week ahead with them.
